FairFare data supporting ongoing platform transparency enforcement in Colorado
FairFare, built in partnership with CIDU, crowdsourced rideshare trip data from nearly 500 driver accounts spanning 2017–2024, revealing that platform take rates average ~30% but can exceed 90% on individual rides. This data continues to support enforcement of Colorado's transparency laws and advocacy for similar legislation in other states.
Built FareShare with Washington's largest rideshare union to help drivers contest AI deactivations and recover lost wages
Partnered with Washington state's largest rideshare labor union to build FareShare, an open-source tool that automates lost-wage estimation for drivers unjustly deactivated by platform AI systems. Under WA's HB 2076, drivers deactivated for more than three days can appeal and seek back pay. FareShare reduces wage-calculation time by over 95%, eliminates manual data-entry errors, and generates arbitration-ready PDF reports — enabling the union's legal team to independently audit platform records and strengthen claims during formal hearings. Deployed in 2025, it registered 178 driver signups in its first three months.
Supported passage of Colorado's platform transparency laws (SB24-75 & HB24-1129)
Collaborated with CIDU-CWA 7777 to support two landmark bills signed into law by Governor Polis — the first legislation of its kind in the US. SB24-75 requires Uber and Lyft to disclose driver wages and rider charges; HB24-1129 prohibits tip-based pay reductions and extends protections to delivery workers. FairFare data on platform take rates directly informed the policy case.
